Ladies and Gentlemen, I have an announcement:

I am moving to Peru.

Well, perhaps I use the word "moving" a bit too loosely here, as my timeframe abroad definitely has an expiration date (most likely 90 days or less).  Also, I don't know when I will be leaving.  Or even where exactly I will be going or what I will be doing when I get there.

But, at least this much has been decided: after graduation, I will go to Peru.

This is something I have felt the Lord calling me to do for nearly a year now.  Even when there were talks of marriage and eventual dwellings in Uganda, something always felt a little...off.  I tried to convince myself that as long as I was doing mission work, it was all kind of the same (which I still believe, to a certain extent).  But God has been gently persistent, reminding me over and over that He has a special purpose for me in Peru.

Why Peru?  I guess we'll find out.

Currently I am talking with two separate organizations, trying to suss out the details of cost, time frame, and volunteer opportunities.

I would greatly appreciate your prayer during this season.  I'm undeniably excited about this new adventure, but also pretty terrified.  While the Lord is certainly meeting my basic needs each month, in no way do I currently have the surplus funding necessary to purchase plane tickets, much less room and board in another country.  At the same time, I am faithful that He will provide one way or another.

I'll keep you updated as I figure out more of the details.

Love, love, love.

It's nice that you're going somewhere you can use your Spanish. (Uganda probably not being overrun with Spanish-speaking inhabitants.) It will be an exciting time for you.

When the Lord calls one to His work, He will equip and bless, guide, protect, and direct those who respond.

Keep seeking His will, and He will reveal to you what you need to know when you need to know it.

There is a season for everything. Sounds like the season for Natalie to go to Peru is coming.

Prayers going up. Thanks be to God for the gift of prayer to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth.

LOVE,
DAD
