Snow Sessions

Currently I'm curled up under a thick down comforter on the couch, staring out the window at the gorgeous snow fall.  It's far too late to still be awake, but I'm soaking in the solitude of this memory.

I am blessed.

Lord, if You take the time to create such beautiful, delicate, unique snowflakes - each one more fragile and precious than the one before it - how much more masterful are You in creating us?

Every flake that falls from the sky is rare (more so in Portland, as we don't see too much of this cozy-up-under-a-blanket-and-forget-all-your-other-responsibilities weather).  One of a kind.  THOUSANDS of them falling at the same time, only to join up with the thousands of others which fell before them... all melting into each other and blanketing everything with their beauty.  Even the few remaining tire tracks in the parking lot are nearly filled in.  It is so peaceful.

Lord, is this what You do to our souls?  Slowly, delicately, meticulously filling in the tracks of sin and hurt and distance in our hearts.  Each new outpouring of love for us unique and precious.  Blanketing our hearts with love, redemption, grace... beauty. You love each of us as if there was only one of us to love.
