a love letter
Dear Luke and Abbey,
As I lay here, just shortly after midnight on the very day you are scheduled to begin breathing the same air as me, I am overwhelmed. Overjoyed. Speechless.
I have tears in my eyes as I attempt to capture my swirling thoughts and translate them to print.
Do you have any idea how much you are desired? With joyful anticipation, people you don't even know (and may never actually meet this side of Heaven) have prayed, are praying, and will continue to pray over your very existence.
I feel drawn to the book of Psalms as I write this, which is appropriate as I am bursting with songs of praise.
Even before your earthly conception, you were loved. God Himself formed you both in His image, and then waited until the absolutely perfect moment to begin His process of forming you in your beautiful mother's womb.
Psalm 139: 13 -16 "Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God - you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration - what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; you know exactly how I was made bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day."
You are insanely blessed. You have more people in your life who love you than I could even begin to name. But beyond that, dear children, you are tremendous blessings.
Your lives will stand testament to the truth of Psalm 126: 1b - 3
"... we were like (ones) who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, 'The Lord has done great things for them.' The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy."
Your parents prayed fiercely for you to grace us with your presence on this earth, and we are overjoyed that the day has finally come!
Have faith, dear ones, His plan for you is so unbelievably perfect. He's already worked it all out and, as Psalm 138:8 promises, He will fulfill His purpose for you.
I love you so much already.
Love,
Your (favorite) Auntie Natalie
