I taught my first lesson of my worksample today. It went really well! The kids LOVED the song I wrote for them, though I must admit it was kind of trying singing through it so many times. Perhaps I should have selected a shorter song? Oh well, what's done is done. It feels good to have one lesson under my belt. I'm hoping it's the kick in the pants I needed to get crackin' on the rest of my lessons - I'm running out of time.
I'm also running out of time for my formal observations! My mentor teacher is about 7 years pregnant right now and is seriously ready to pop any minute. She has to formally observe me teaching at least twice this term, so we're hoping to get that out of the way this week. Ay yi yi.

yeah, imagine singing that all the way through with third graders... twice. Needless to say, I was out of breath and losing my voice by the second time around. But they LOVED it. And that is what is most important.
