my little friend Grace

The funny thing about Grace is that we don't even come close to deserving her.

The even funnier thing about Grace, is we feel her most when we are least deserving.

It's hard for our human minds to wrap around this concept: God loves us so much, He chooses to forgive us... even when He knows our torrent of sins will continue. Even when, in our hearts, we feel our sins are so awful, so painful, so unforgivable, that we live in a state of constant fear and punishment. Even when we convince ourselves that anything bad that happens is simply a punishment for the bad things we've done to others. Even when we refuse to accept this beautifully wrapped package, freely given....

...it's still that: FREE. And even better? It's like our fries at Red Robin: BOTTOMLESS.

God loves you.

He is pleased with you.

And so am I.

Following are some lyrics from one of my very favorite Trevor Davis songs. Look him up, he's quite talented.

Grace
oh grace she's never left me
i continually walk away and
take advantage of you just about every day oh grace
she's never left me
i try but i can't resist you keep hooking me like a fish
oh grace
she's never left me

chorus
and she's calling me from above
and drawing me
and drawing me to love

verse 2
oh i remember when i first me you
oh i thought i had to work for you
then i found out all that i had to do was believe
then you cleaned off my slate and some how loved this lump of clay, oh grace
she's never left me

Grace
oh grace she's never left me
i continually walk away and
take advantage of you just about every day oh grace
she's never left me
i try but i can't resist you keep hooking me like a fish
oh grace
she's never left me

chorus
and she's calling me from above
and drawing me
and drawing me to love

verse 2
oh i remember when i first me you
oh i thought i had to work for you
then i found out all that i had to do was believe
then you cleaned off my slate and some how loved this lump of clay, oh grace
she's never left me
